New Sustainability Report from the Brand Group: Sustainability with Substance

Dr. Constantin Schöler, Dr. Christoph Schöler Executive directors of the BRAND Group

The Brand Group's 2025 Sustainability Report makes it clear: sustainability is not a trend, but a core principle. Responsible resource management and transparent corporate governance are not extras – they are fundamental.

The report aims to provide a fact-based, honest presentation of activities in the areas of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) – highlighting progress as well as remaining challenges. Greenwashing has no place here. Instead of empty promises, the report offers verifiable statements, consistent data, and comprehensive reporting. Reporting continues to be conducted in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) – even without a legal obligation. Transparency is part of the corporate culture, not a reaction to regulation.

United Nations Global Compact

With more than 20,000 participating companies, the United Nations Global Compact is the world's largest initiative for corporate sustainability and social responsibility. The Brand Group supports the ten principles of the UN Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labor standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption and has joined the initiative on September 30, 2024. In the future, we will therefore report publicly every year on the activities with which we integrate the ten principles into our business strategy and thus make a contribution to the United Nations' goals for sustainable development and social responsibility.

Validation of our greenhouse gas (GHG) targets

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a partnership between CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It supports companies and financial institutions in setting emissions targets aligned with the scientific 1.5°C and “well-below 2°C” pathways. In addition, the SBTi reviews and validates the targets of participating companies and advances transparent, measurable emissions reductions worldwide for short- and long-term net-zero goals by 2050 at the latest.

As part of our SBTi commitment, we are focusing on measurable and verifiable emissions reductions across our value chain. Brand Group SE & Co. KG commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42.0% by 2030 from a 2023 base year. Brand Group SE & Co. KG commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 25.0% by 2030 from a 2023 base year.
